  • 1929 - In New York, Walt Disney signs an agreement with Pat Powers for the use of his Cinephone sound system. Disney will pay 25 cents per foot of negative film, and $13,000 licensing fee per year for ten years for use of the Cinephone sound system.
  • 1941 - The Mickey Mouse film The Little Whirlwind is released to theaters. Minnie Mouse also appears.
  • 1946 - Disney delivers the film The Building of a Tire to Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
  • 1950 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film Toy Tinkers for an Oscar Award in the category Short Subjects, Cartoons.
  • 1957 - Disney releases the eighth People and Places film, The Blue Men of Morocco, to theaters.
  • 1967 - The Pirate's Arcade Museum opens in New Orleans Square.
  • 1971 - The NBC TV network airs The Wonderful World of Disney show, featuring Bayou Bay, part two.
  • 1976 - The NBC TV network airs NBC All-Disney Night at the Movies featuring Old Yeller, A Country Coyote Goes Hollywood, and Pecos Bill.
  • 1984 - CBS airs the TV special Disney's All-Star Valentine Party.
  • 1986 - The NBC TV network airs Disney's DTV Valentine.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film Dead Poets Society for an Oscar Award in the category Best Picture.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates Robin Williams for his role in the film Dead Poets Society for an Oscar Award in the category Actor.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates Peter Weir for his role in the film Dead Poets Society for an Oscar Award in the category Directing.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film Dead Poets Society for an Oscar Award in the category Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film Blaze for an Oscar Award in the category Cinematography.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film The Little Mermaid for an Oscar Award in the category Music, Original Score.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the song "Kiss the Girl" from the film The Little Mermaid for an Oscar Award in the category Music, Original Song.
  • 1990 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the song "Under the Sea" from the film The Little Mermaid for an Oscar Award in the category Music, Original Song.
  • 1991 - The Gambia issues eleven postage stamps depicting scenes from The Sword in the Stone.
  • 1992 - Disney releases the animated film The Jungle Book on laserdisc for US$30-40.
  • 1995 - Nevis issues ten postage stamps depicting various Disney characters and Valentines.
  • 1997 - Buena Vista Pictures releases the Walt Disney Pictures live-action feature film That Darn Cat to theaters in the USA. The film is a remake of the 1965 film.
  • 1999 - The first Disney Cruise Line wedding occurs on Castaway Cay.
  • 2003 - Disney releases the animated feature film The Jungle Book 2 to theaters in the US.
  • 2005 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Fairly Oddparents TV show in the US. An amusement park has a ride called "It's a Dull World Ride", a reference to Disneyland's It's a Small World attraction.
