  • 1927 - Disney ships the 49th Alice Comedy film, Alice's Three Bad Eggs, to Winkler Pictures.
  • 1939 - The animated film The Practical Pig is released to theaters.
  • 1950 - Disney releases the Goofy film How to Ride a Horse to theaters. The film was originally part of the film The Reluctant Dragon.
  • 1956 - Disney releases the Donald Duck film Chips Ahoy to theaters. Chip 'n Dale also appear.
  • 1960 - Buena Vista premieres Disney's live-action feature film Kidnapped in selected theaters. The film is based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson.
  • 1963 - The NBC TV network airs the Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color show, entitled Banner in the Sky: The Killer Mountain. It is the second part of the film Third Man on the Mountain.
  • 1964 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film The Sword in the Stone for an Oscar Award in the category Music, Scoring of Music - Adaptation or Treatment.
  • 1969 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day for an Oscar Award in the category Short Subjects, Cartoons.
  • 1975 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film The Island at the Top of the World for an Oscar Award in the category Art Direction - Set Decoration.
  • 1975 - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominates the film Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too for an Oscar Award in the category Short Films, Animated.
  • 1983 - Card Walker resigns as chief executive officer; Ron Miller is elected as new CEO of Walt Disney Productions. Ray Watson is named vice-chairman, to become full chairman on May 1 when Card Walker retires the position.
  • 1985 - The Disney Clothiers shop opens in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
  • 1996 - The Spirit of Pocahontas show gives its last performance at the Disney-MGM Studios.
  • 1997 - Michael Eisner and Steve Jobs announce that the Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have agreed to jointly produce five movies over the next ten years. Costs, profits, and logo credit will be split 50/50. Disney will purchase one million shares of Pixar common stock at US$15 per share, and may acquire up to 5 percent of the company.
