  • 1958 - The ABC TV network airs the Disneyland TV show, entitled An Adventure in the Magic Kingdom.
  • 1961 - The ABC TV network airs the Walt Disney Presents TV show, entitled Battle for Survival.
  • 1978 - The University of Southern California chapter of the Delta Kappa Alpha National Honorary Cinema Fraternity recognizes the "Nine Old Men" (Disney animators) with the "Pioneer in Film" award.
  • 1984 - Reliance Group Holdings now owns 8.3 percent of outstanding Disney stock.
  • 1987 - The Disney Traders shop opens in World Showcase Plaza in EPCOT Center.
  • 1989 - The NBC TV network airs The Magical World of Disney show, featuring Parent Trap III, part one.
  • 1990 - The Disney Channel begins airing the series Just Perfect.
  • 1992 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show. A scene shows a television show parody of Disney's Dinosaurs show. A Simpsons' character notes how similar the Dinosaur family is to the Simpson family. Also, a scene shows a woman in a bathtub slip under the water, similar to a scene in Disney's Pretty Woman.
  • 1995 - The Fox Broadcasting Company airs The Simpsons TV show in the US.
    • There are several references to Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmatians:
  • episode title is Two Dozen and One Greyhounds,
  • a pair of dogs have a lot of puppies (25), and
  • an evil character steals the puppies to make a coat of them.
    • Two dogs go to a restaurant, eat spaghetti and meatballs at a table, and a common strand of spaghetti brings their noses together, like in Lady and the Tramp.
    • Names of some dogs are names from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Sleepy, Dopey, Grumpy.
    • A character sings song "See my vest" to the tune of "Be Our Guest" from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and includes a maid like Mrs. Potts.

  • 1996 - Jeffrey Katzenberg files a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming breach of his Disney contract, claiming he is owed as much as US$250 million for projects he developed at Disney.
  • 1997 - Disney Online opens the Disney Daily Blast Internet Web site for 10,000 visitors, aimed at children aged 3-12 years.
  • 1999 - UIP releases the Paramount Pictures / Touchstone Pictures live-action feature film A Civil Action to theaters in Great Britain.
  • 1999 - Buena Vista releases the Dimension Films live-action feature film The Faculty to theaters in Great Britain.
  • 2004 - Touchstone releases the live-action feature film The Alamo to theaters in the USA.
