The bid is withdrawn on April 28. 2006 - U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shoots his friend and lawyer, Harry Whittington, in the face with a shotgun on a south Texas ranch. 2010 - The US Mint launches the 2010 Lincoln, Union Shield cent in Springfield, Illinois.
